Finally Some Justice:Canadian sentenced for running pedophile brothel


A Canadian man was sentenced on Monday to 25 years in U.S. prison for running a brothel in Thailand that provided boys, some as young as 4 years old, to pedophiles, federal prosecutors said.

John Wrenshall, 64, admitted to using his Bangkok home to host foreign visitors who would pay him to have sex with Thai boys, according to court documents.

He pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to engage in sex tourism, conspiracy to produce child pornography and distribution of child pornography, said the U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark, New Jersey.

He let his clients film and photograph their abuse of the Thai boys, prosecutors said.

Wrenshall also was accused of personally abusing the boys to prepare them for customers. He was extradited to New Jersey after being arrested at London's Heathrow Airport in December 2008.

"John Wrenshall created a place where innocent children were sexually brutalized as a vacation pastime," U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman said in a statement. "It is fitting that a man who has condemned children to live with unimaginable scars for his pleasure and profit should spend decades of his own life in a prison cell."

Wrenshall was indicted in New Jersey after it was discovered that Wayne Nelson Corliss, a New Jersey resident, had traveled to Thailand where he was photographed sexually abusing several Thai boys.

Corliss was identified after a sanitized version of one of the photographs was publicly released by INTERPOL, the international police organization.

Two of Wrenshall's other U.S. clients -- both from Alabama -- have been convicted and sentenced to prison on sex tourism charges for their patronage of his brothel.

Snapped!! Mom Shoots 2 Children for Being 'Mouthy'

TAMPA, Fla. -- The wife of a military officer shot and killed her son on the way to soccer practice, then drove to their upscale home and shot her daughter in the head while she studied at her computer, police said Friday.

Afterward, the woman told detectives she killed the teens for being "mouthy."

Julie Powers Schenecker admitted the slayings after officers found her covered in blood on the back porch of her home Friday morning, police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said. Schenecker's mother had called police from Texas because she was unable to reach the 50-year-old woman, whom she said was depressed and had been complaining about her children.

Schenecker's husband, Parker Schenecker, is an Army colonel stationed at the headquarters of U.S. Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. The father had been away for several days when the killings happened, said CentCom spokesman Lt. Col. Michael Lawhorn, describing him as a career Army intelligence officer.

Police said Parker Schenecker was in Qatar and was told of his children's deaths on Friday.

Julie Schenecker left a note detailing her plans to kill her disrespectful children and then herself, saying "they talked back and were mouthy and that she was going to take care of it," McElroy said. She provided the same motive to police who interviewed her.

"I think we will never understand how or why a mother could take the lives of her children," McElroy said. "That was the only reason she provided to our detectives."

The body of Schenecker's daughter, Calyx Powers Schenecker, 16, was found in an upstairs bedroom, McElroy said. The body of her son, Powers Beau Schenecker, 13, was found in an SUV in the garage.

An arrest affidavit said Schenecker shot her son twice in the head "for talking back" while driving him to soccer practice Thursday night. She drove home, went inside and shot her daughter in the back of head while the teen sat at a computer doing homework, then shot her in the face, the affidavit said.

McElroy said investigators believe the teens "never saw it coming." Both were killed with a .38-caliber pistol.

Julie Schenecker was jailed and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Wearing a white jumpsuit, she was led into a county jail later Friday visibly shaking and being supported by a sheriff's deputy.

Her Facebook page says she earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Northern Iowa.

Sylvia Carroll, who attended Muscatine High School in Iowa with Julie Schenecker, said she was a popular and athletic girl who starred in basketball in the late 1970s. They reconnected about a year ago on Facebook.

"I'm just in shock," said Carroll, who now lives in Austin, Texas. "I can't believe this."

The family's home is on a cul-de-sac in a gated country club community in north Tampa. Hillsborough County property records show that the Scheneckers bought the house in 2008 for $448,000. It now has a market value of $261,000.

Dallas-area strip clubs, expecting a boom in lusting patrons, are scrambling for exotic dancers to meet the expected onslaught, TMZ reported Thursday.

Showtime Cabaret’s John Walsh told TMZ his establishment is looking for an additional 100 to 120 lap dancers for the big football weekend.

One advertisement says, “We Want You!! Ladies, are you coming to [Dallas-Fort Worth] for the big game week? Want a safe, clean club to make the big $$$ in?”

Walsh said the 60 or so Dallas-area strip clubs will require approximately 10,000 strippers combined.

Officials from Arlington, Tex., home to Cowboys Stadium where the game will be played, said they expect 300,000 visitors for Super Bowl weekend.

A crazed Brooklyn mom who tried to forcibly abort her cheating hubby's love child by poisoning his mistress cut a deal with prosecutors Wednesday that could have out of prison in less than two years.

Kisha Jones, 40, was seven months pregnant when she tricked Monique Hunter, 26, into taking an abortion-inducing medication on October 2009.

Jones' hubby, Anthony Jones, had knocked up both his wife and mistress around the same time, said defense lawyer Barry Turner.

"My client was in the last trimester of her pregnancy and was acting irrationally," he said outside court.

"I guess her hormones were out of whack."

Turner said accused Hunter of taunting his client, leaving phone messages with details of her three-year affair - and claiming Jones' man would soon leave her.

Jones had no criminal history and a life-long record of helping disabled kids, and deserved a break, Turner said.

She was under mounting pressure expecting her fourth child and "she acted in a manner that wasn't consistent with her personality," the lawyer said.

Jones admitted that, using a forged prescription and phone number-disguising software, she called Hunter and got her to take cytotec, causing her to go into early labor.

She was also accused of then trying to kill the premature newborn in the maternity ward and later impersonating a hospital exec to try getting the baby off a ventilator - but those attempted murder charges were dropped.

Wearing a knitted pink hat, the spurned spouse pleaded Wednesday to a lesser charge of second-degree assault.

Prosecutors signed off on the plea deal "after careful consideration and only after talking to the victim in this case many times," assistant district attorney David Klestzick told the judge.

Jones will be sentenced to four years in the klink on Feb. 10 - but with time served and credit for good behavior, she could be out in a year and eight months.

Turner said that Jones and her husband are still married and that Anthony Jones cares for the children and is involved with his wife's legal defense.

It wasn't clear if he has contact with Hunter or her child.

"Everybody's fine," the lawyer said. "The baby is fine, Monique Hunter is fine."

Best Idea Of The Day:Virginia lawmaker wants to castrate sex offenders, as alternative to costly state treatment programs





A Virginia lawmaker is floating a harsh idea for treating the state's convicted sex offenders: castration.

Republican State Sen. Emmett Hanger's bill would have state agencies study whether Virginia should start castrating sex offenders instead of confining them to treatment programs after they get out of jail.

Former Gov. Timothy Kaine vetoed a similar bill in 2007.

Hanger's critics call the idea barbaric, but he said it would save the state money and could provide a cure.

"I don't think it's radical at all," Hanger told the Associated Press. "It's just something that's not typically the thing you want to bring up in polite conversation, but again the whole subject area is not for polite conversation.

"We're talking about people who are so driven because of the tendencies from the chemicals and the hormones inside their body to perform heinous acts."

Virginia is one of 20 states with a civil commitment program, whose purpose is to keep violent sex offenders off the streets by allowing the government to keep them in custody – in psychiatric hospitals, for example – after they are released from prison.

The state's commitment program ballooned to $24 million this year, up from $2.7 million in 2004, and Gov. Bob McDonnell wants to spend $70 million over the next two years.

Hanger's bill wants state agencies to study the option of physical castration – cutting off a man's testicles or removing a woman's ovaries. Louisiana and Texas have legalized physical castration, while six other states allow for some form of castration of sex offenders, including chemical, which uses pharmaceuticals to stop a person's sex drive.

The bill doesn't only aim below the belt, though.

It also would require the state to consider changing the criteria for entering the civil commitment program, as well as creating housing options for those released, who are forbidden from halfway houses.

Some critics argued that castration would not be effective because it would not address the motivation that causes sexual predators to act on their impulses.

"When abuse and mutilation of a human being is presented as an acceptable alternative to responsible treatment and housing for those deemed as sexually violent predators, there exists a fault of reason," Mary Devoy, founder of Reform Sex Offender Laws of Virginia, told the AP.

Besides his flagship cola drink Canna Cola, he will also produce Dr Pepper-like Doc Weed, lemon-lime Sour Diesel, grape-flavored Grape Ape and orange-flavored Orange Kush.

A 12-ounce bottle will cost $10 to $15.

Day Care Horror: Man Accused of Molesting 3 Girls at Wife's Day Care Center





MORENO VALLEY (KTLA) -- Police in Moreno Valley have arrested a 61-year-old man for allegedly sexually molesting three girls at his wife's day care center.

Ruben Avalos was arrested on Thursday as he was picking up kids after school and taking them to the Carlos Family Child Care Center in the 16500 block of Tarano Lane.

Avalos was booked for investigation of sex with a child, forced oral copulation and lewd acts upon a child.

Riverside County Sheriff's Lt. Chad Bianco said deputies were led to Avalos by an alleged victim being treated at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.

All the alleged victims are under 14 years old, and the alleged crimes happened over the past several months.

Avalos' wife, Maria De La Luz Carlos, said only that she and her husband have been married 13 years, and he sometimes helps out with her day care center, which she operates out of their home.

Carlos Family Child Care has been licensed since November 2006 to care for up to 14 children, California Department of Social Services records show.

The department's Community Care Licensing Division is now investigating.

One would think that Plies learned his lesson after his entourage shot into a live crowd in 2006, landing the rapper in hot water.

Not so, it seems, as the man born Algernod Washington reportedly threatened his crowd during a recent performance, perhaps encouraged by the dismissal of a civil suit stemming from the aforementioned incident.

According to theboombox.com, after the Florida rapper was hit with a cup while performing, he went on an angry tirade, threatening violence.

Pittsburgh Film maker Antoine Fuqua, best known for directing the award-winning film Training Day, has been working on a biopic about the late Tupac Shakur for some time. Now some details about the planned film have come to light. The film will of course feature actors portraying Tupac, his mother, and Suge Knight. But, more surprising, Jada Pinkett Smith will also play a part in the film, having been a classmate and friend of the young rapper during his teen years in Baltimore.

The film’s official synopsis, courtesy of Moviehole.com, reads like this: “The rise and fall of TUPAC SHAKUR is chronicled, from his days attending the Baltimore School of the Arts as a teenager, to his decision to leave his mother’s dead-end life behind and embrace the Thug Life in California, to his wild success as a rapper and his dangerous war against the East Coast scene. Charges of Aggravated Riot have been dropped in Yo Gotti's case. The charges were brought against the Memphis emcee after a scuffle outside of a night club called Level II in South East Memphis. 

"Case dismissed, it's over," a relieved Gotti told Fox News in Memphis. "It's false allegations."

Gotti said that he remained positive even through the "damaging" challenges he faced during this time period. 

"For them to put it out there and run with it, of course it's a little damaging but like I said, I knew it was all going to come to this."

Cold case over: Carlina White, kidnapped as infant from hospital 24 years ago, reuinites with family

An infant kidnapped 24 years ago from a city hospital improbably resurfaced this month to reunite with her family, resolving one of the NYPD's most perplexing cold cases.

Carlina White - last seen by her biological parents as a feverish 3-week-old infant - met her mother, father and other now-ecstatic relatives over the weekend.

"We ate and talked and got to know each other ... I feel great," said her mother, Joy White, who also met her granddaughter for the first time.

"I can sleep! I can definitely sleep now because this has been on my mind for so many years."

A DNA match revealed the connection between the adult woman living in Georgia under a different name and her New York relatives.

The girl's kidnapper - a drug-user who once beat Carlina with a shoe - remained the target of a police search, according to Joy White.

"She didn't really raise her," the irate mother said. "She neglected her and let other people raise her."

The family's anger toward the missing suspect was overwhelmed by their elation about the discovery of the now 23-year-old woman.

"Carlina came home!" said her grandmother, Elizabeth White, 71, of Manhattan. "She came up from Atlanta and we were all here. Oh, what a beautiful girl."

Carlina White - raised in Bridgeport, Conn., under an alias, Nejdra Nance - suspected since her 16th birthday that her "family" wasn't flesh and blood, according to Joy White.

"To take somebody else's baby and neglect it and and not take care of it - you have to be a sick person," Joy White said. "(Carlina) told me she never said someone to say 'I love you,' or hug her."

Carlina contacted an organization for missing and exploited children to follow up on her suspicions.

The girl's mother learned her daughter was still alive Jan. 4, when she received photos of the missing girl. A DNA match last night confirmed their ties, she said.

"I was screaming, I was so excited," said Joy White. "As soon as I saw those pictures I said, 'That's my daughter.' I saw myself in her."

Nejdra is the mother of a 5-year-old daughter, Samani, who came north with her.

"She's so beautiful," said Joy White. "She was like, 'I love you grandma.' Everything is grandma, grandma!"

Dad Carl Tyson said he didn't need any tests to know the young woman was his child.

"I already knew in my heart that this was my daughter," said Tyson, who was 22 when the girl disappeared. "All I could do is shed tears."

When a detective told Tyson the test results were a match, Tyson said he cried more tears of joy.

The grandmother and mom said they never gave up hope.

Five years ago, a weepy Joy White told the Daily News that she still prayed daily for the return of her daughter - and believed Carlina would one day return.

It was August 1987 when the little girl's abduction - the only known hospital kidnapping in New York history - stunned the city. It stumped investigators for more than two decades.

The three-week-old girl, just 21 inches long and weighing eight pounds, was rushed to Harlem Hospital by her parents with a 104-degree temperature.

A woman dressed as a nurse approached 16-year-old Joy White in the emergency room, offering soothing words to the worried mother.

"Don't cry," she said. "Everything's going to be all right."

But everything instead went wrong. The compassion was actually a cover-up, and the woman brazenly snatched the infant before disappearing.

Authorities said the white-clad woman was hanging around the hospital for several weeks before the kidnapping.

Police managed to track one suspect to Baltimore, but were never able to bring charges in what became one of the NYPD's coldest cases.

White and father Carl Tyson received a $750,000 settlement from the city after filing a lawsuit. The couple split up about a year after their daughter's disappearance.

Both went on to raise separate families while wondering about the fate of their first born.

This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves, who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity. But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacle of segregation and the chains of discrimination.

One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir.

This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end but a beginning. Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual.

There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds.

Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must ever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.

Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow. I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

Bad Parenting At It's Best: Baby Drowns While Mom Playing Game on Facebook



FORT LUPTON, Colo. -- The mother of a 13-month-old boy who drowned in a bathtub told police she was on Facebook in another room when her son died.

Shannon Johnson of Fort Lupton is due in court today on charges of child abuse resulting in death.

According to an arrest affidavit, Johnson's son died on Sept. 20 after she left him alone in the bathroom for a few minutes.

She told police she was playing a game called 'Café World' while her son was in the tub.

According to the affidavit, when police got to her home, Facebook was still up on her laptop.

Johnson told officers Joseph was playing in the tub for 10 minutes and she had checked on him once.

When three minutes passed without the sound of him playing, she went to check on him and found him on his side with his face in the water.

He was flown to The Children's Hospital in Aurora where he died.

Court documents indicate Joseph had been treated for a seizure about a month before his death.

She is being held at the Weld County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

It's just like you feel like you don't want to rap no more [or] you wanna keep going past the hook, just keep going past the hook. That makes it real hip-hop." he said. "People don't understand that hip-hop got started from being rebellious to any rules. Hip-hop has no rules, and the only reason hip-hop started getting rules [was] because of radio airplay, sales, different spins and trying to reach out to another audience. But Jay and Kanye got the audience already so they can do what they want to do, and I think that's what they doing, which is a great move."

Mr. Alicia Keys, who last work with both emcees on the remix to Kanye's "Power," has played a role in an album he thinks has the potential to change the game. "I'm involved a little bit on the album, and just hearing the different songs it's like 'Wow, they're really taking it to another level.' I'm happy to be a part of it, those are my brothers and [they're] going to continue pushing the envelope," he said before adding that, "'H.A.M.' Will be followed up by tracks that are "just gonna keep getting better."

Swizz is also a big fan of these high profile collaborations. "I think that those being both of my friends, and knowing that people can team up on such a high caliber level — as musicians, as rappers, as friends, as peers — I think it's super positive, and I think that if more of the industry did moves like this it would be a better place for everybody."

"It’s crazy because I’d already planned on going back into the storytelling thing on my next project... that's a cool start for me," added Banks, who collaborated with Raekwon on his recent Hunger For More 2. Toronto Drug Lords: Two Canadian Nationals Charged with Smuggling 100 Pounds of Cocaine


VALENCIA ( KTLA) Two male Canadian nationals are under arrest in Los Angeles for allegedly trying to smuggle more than 100 pounds of cocaine to Canada, hidden in boxes of romaine lettuce.

Along with the cocaine and lettuce, federal agents also found nearly two and a half million dollars in cash inside a safe inside a warehouse.

Vasile Babuschin, 19, and Sergei Souetov, 32, both from the Toronto area, are expected to be arraigned in Los Angeles County District Court Tuesday for possession of cocaine.

The two men were at a Valencia warehouse on Constellation Road, when the agents and officers moved in.

Besides the safe, investigators found dozens of boxes of romaine lettuce stacked inside the building. Agents believe the cocaine was ultimately destined for Canada and speculate the produce was going to be used to try to obscure the smuggling scheme.

"We believe these suspects were going to attempt to ship this cocaine by truck to Canada, where it would have sold on the streets for more than $2 million," said Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for ICE's Homeland Security Investigations in Los Angeles. "Thanks to some tenacious police work, there are some very unhappy drug dealers north of the border tonight."

CITRA, Fla -- Victoria Eltonya Bynes, of Citra, was arrested Saturday after she allegedly doused her boyfriend's genital area with gasoline and set him on fire, reports The Gainesville Sun.

Her boyfriend, Andrew Williams, 42, also of Citra, was transported to Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville with serious injuries.

His condition Sunday was unknown, reports the Sun.

According to Marion County Sheriff's Office reports, Bynes went to William's mother's home looking for him.

Bynes reportedly told the mom that, "Your son has some explaining to do," and left. She then went to another home where she found Williams.

The resident of the second home called deputies to report that a fight had broken out between Bynes and Williams and that Bynes threw a liquid on Williams and lit him on fire, according to the Sun.

When deputies arrived at the scene, Williams was kneeling in the yard, covered in a blanket, with second-and third-degree burns on his genital area and torso.

He couldn't respond because he was in pain, according to the Sun.

When deputies found Bynes at her home, she initially told them she did not know why they were there -- but later she told the deputies she knew what had happened and 'fessed up to the horriific act.

She said she and Williams began struggling over the bottle and knew he was sprayed with gasoline.

She said she was flicking her lighter when she dropped it into Williams' lap.

She also said Williams was sitting on the ground and appeared to be fine as she drove away, according to the Sun.

Bynes was charged with aggravated battery and was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released on $10,000 bond early Sunday morning.

It's Getting Crazy:Weekend Drug-Related Violence in Mexico Claims 51 Lives, Including 15 People Beheaded





(AFP) - Drug-related violence over the weekend claimed 51 lives across Mexico, including a record-setting 15 decapitations in the beach resort of Acapulco, authorities reported Sunday.

The beheadings, mutilations, drive-by shootings and summary executions were carried out in southeastern Guerrero and northern Chihuahua states, as well as in the Mexican capital, despite the government's five-year, 50,000-troop crackdown on organized crime.

By far the grisliest scene unfolded Saturday at an Acapulco shopping center where the decapitated bodies of 15 men were found on the sidewalk, with their severed heads bunched nearby. Two of the victims were 17 years old, a Guerrero official said.

It was the worst mass decapitation since August 2008, when 12 headless bodies were found in eastern Yucatan state capital Merida, in a crime attributed to the notorious Los Zetas drug cartel.

Another six murder victims were found Saturday in Acapulco stuffed inside a taxi near a supermarket, and four other men were murdered in two separate incidents in the city, Guerrero state police said.

On Sunday, Acapulco officials said police found three more bodies, including one that was decapitated and mutilated, on the side of a road near the city. Media reports said the victims were among 10 people kidnapped late Saturday from a local discotheque.

In Mexico's most violent state of Chihuahua that borders the United States, authorities reported 17 people murdered over the weekend, 14 of them in Ciudad Juarez -- across from El Paso, Texas -- which has the highest murder rate in the country.

In Mexico City, four young men were killed in a drive-by shooting late Saturday outside a grocery store, city officials said.

The latest killings bore the hallmarks of the vicious gangland slayings that have terrorized large areas of Mexico as drug cartels battle it out among themselves and with security forces.

More than 30,000 people have been killed since 2006, when the government of President Felipe Calderon launched a major military crackdown against the drug gangs. Last year alone, a record 12,000 murders were blamed on the drug violence.

Notorious B.I.G. Murder Investigation Given New Life



New Life Breathed Into Solving The Case Of B.I.G Murder

Nearly 14 years after the death of Notorious B.I.G., CNN reports that the rapper's murder investigation has been given new life thanks to new information. Though details remain sketchy, a task force comprised of local and federal agencies is looking into new leads. Word is the Los Angeles Police Department, the L.A. District Attorney's Office and the FBI are part of the task force. Former LAPD detective Russell Poole retired from law enforcement after growing frustrated about Big's murder investigation.

During his time working the case, Poole was working a theory that former Death Row boss Suge Knight had Biggie killed with the help of off-dutypolice officers. Poole's theory also fingers Knight for having Tupac Shakur, who was gunned down six months before Biggie after a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas, killed. According to Poole, the PD didn't allow him to look into leads that involved other police officers. "I think I was getting too close to the truth," Poole told CNN. "I think they feared the truth would be a scandal. Biggie was shot and killed after leaving a party at the Petersen Automotive Museum in 1997.

Though the killing remains unsolved to this day, Voletta Wallace, Biggie's mother, with help from Poole, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the LAPD in 2005. Good News Of The Day: Second Suspect Arrested in Videotaped Sex Assaults of Disabled Women




LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's officials say a second suspect seen in the videotaped assaults of disabled women is now behind bars.

27-year-old Ernie Lloyd, of Los Angeles, was arrested Saturday, after he turned up at a Hollywood police station. He apparently told police he had seen himself on the news, and knew that he was wanted.

LAPD detectives contacted sheriff's officials late last week, saying they recognized the two men in the tapes, including Lloyd, from two separate investigations in 2007 and 2009.

The other suspect was identified as 42-year-old Bert Hicks of Los Angeles. Police say he is already in custody for a previous conviction.

LAPD detectives saw the story about the sheriff's department investigation, and they called because Hicks was serving time for sexual assault in an LAPD case.

The sheriff's department is not releasing the name of the facility where they believe Hicks worked.

The break comes after authorities released surveillance images of four men on Thursday.

Detectives say eight men were involved in the attacks on at least 10 women who were physically and mentally disabled.

Many of the victims, between the ages of 20 and 40, were bedridden.

"These victims are severely disabled. Many of them appear to be unable to move and most of them are wearing diapers," one investigator said.

Officials say an anonymous individual mailed a computer hard drive containing over 100 hours of video.

At least one suspect, seen in a wheelchair and removing his diaper, is believed to be a patient.

The footage was shot at several locations, including one that appears to be a residential care facility.

The video is not being released but composite drawings of four of the suspects have been created based on the video footage.

Investigators asked for the public's help because they did not know when or where the attacks took place, or who was involved.

Hasselbeck, cleared to play just two days ago because of a hip injury, threw for 272 yards and his four TD passes set a playoff career high. The veteran quarterback threw two touchdown passes to tight end John Carlson in the first half and started the second half with a 38-yard strike to Mike Williams to give Seattle a 31-20 lead.

The game wasn't clinched until Lynch provided a run that'll be replayed in the Pacific Northwest for years. He took a second-down carry with less than four minutes to go and then the highlights began. He broke six tackles on the 67-yard run, tossing in a massive stiff arm that sent cornerback Tracy Porter to the turf and completed the longest scoring run of his career.

Lynch finished with 131 yards on 19 carries, the first Seattle back to top 100 yards all season.

Hasselbeck, Lynch and a strong performance by Seattle's offense extended the Saints franchise misery to 0-4 in road playoff games.

The Saints were considered the second-best team in the division behind the NFC South-winning Falcons. Even though they lost to Tampa Bay in the season finale a week ago and were without running backs Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory, safety Malcolm Jenkins and linebacker Danny Clark, the Saints were favored by 10 points to advance.

Now they go home.

Brees and the Saints just couldn't keep up with Hasselbeck and the Seahawks offense. Brees led one final drive, hitting Devery Henderson on a 6-yard touchdown with 1:30 left to get within 41-36.

Brees finished 39 of 60 for 404 yards and two touchdowns. But DeShawn Wynn was stopped on the 2-point conversion, Garrett Hartley's onside kick was recovered by Carlson and the Seahawks were home free.

Woman Raped Boy, 13, She Met Playing X-Box Online


LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KTLA) -- A 36-year-old woman is accused flying across the country to have sex with a 13-year-old boy she befriended while playing X-Box Live online.

Rachel Ann Hicks was taken into custody Friday by Orange County sheriff's investigators.

Sheriff's investigator say the woman initially "met" the boy in September in an X-Box live chat room, Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.

The online relationship progressed to phone calls, texting, e-mails and sending sexually explicit images and movies between one another, the sheriff's office said in a press release.

While visiting family members in Florida over the Thanksgiving holiday, Hicks, a married mother of three, drove to the boy's home in Maryland and "engaged in sexual activity" with him, Amormino said.

The boys' family confronted him after finding "romantic" messages from Hicks on his cell phone, and he admitted to the relationship, Amormino said.

Since Hicks used a fake name when communicating with the boy, and claimed to be 23-years-old, investigators worked with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations Child Exploitation Unit to determine her true identity, Amormino said.

She was taken into custody at her Lake Forest home Friday afternoon, and is being held without bail on suspicion of rape, child molestation and sexual solicitation of a minor, Amormino said.

Hicks admitted to having a relationship with at least one other underage boy in California, Amormino said, and authorities are searching for additional victims.

"She flew to Florida and drove to Maryland, so apparently there are no boundaries," Amormino said.

Now TMZ knows what has lead to this legal showdown. Katherine and her lawyers asked Alejandra and her kids to leave months ago, following the stun gun incident with Jaafar. 
Alejandra lawyered up, and the Estate put an offer on the table -- the Estate would give her a condo, but in return she'd have to sign a confidentiality agreement and promise, among other things, not to write a tell-all book. We've learned Alejandra refused to sign a confidentiality agreement and is in "active negotiations" for a tell-all. When Alejandra was in Japan last month with her kids, everyone assumed she was going away for good and Katherine temporarily moved out to remodel the house. But Alejandra came back, moved back in, and refused to leave, stalling the remodel. Sources say Katherine's lawyers called the cops last week to forcibly evict Alejandra, but the police said they couldn't do anything without an eviction order ... which is why the Estate is going to court.

After an eternity of legal war, the marriage between rapper Nas and singer Kelis is officially over . TMZ obtained legal docs, filed last friday in L.A. County Superior Court, which show that the marriage has been terminated -- but there were still a few more nasty battles to fight ... like child custody and spousal support.

Currently, Nas claims he can't afford to pay Kelis the support ordered by the court. A court ordered Nas last month to pay more than $87,000 in back spousal and child support. The judge also ordered Nas to pay Kelis $10,000 a month in spousal support to stay current. It's unclear how much Nas is required yet to pay in monthly child support. Nas says in the new legal docs obtained by TMZ ... the judge predicated the order on Nas making $152,031 a month, but the rapper says he makes "substantially less than that amount." Nas' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan , proposed the judge to take another look at the damage to Nas' wallet.

With That Done Nas just had his child and spousal support obligations sliced in half, even through he still has to pay ex-wife Kelis a pretty penny ... TMZ has learned. According to legal docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas must now pay a tad over $5,000 a month in child support and $20,000 a month in spousal support. It sounds like a lot, but Nas was paying twice that until he convinced the judge the bad economy has even hit the rap biz hard. So this month, Nas pockets an extra $25k for himself. One love

Sexual Assaults Against Defenseless Women

LOS ANGELES ( KTLA) -- (KTLA) Los Angeles County sheriff's officials on Thursday released information about videotaped sex assaults against disabled women in hopes of catching the suspects.

Detectives say eight men were involved in the attacks on at least 10 women who were physically and mentally disabled.

Many of the victims, between the ages of 20 and 40, were bedridden.

"These victims are severely disabled. Many of them appear to be unable to move and most of them are wearing diapers," one investigator said.

Officials say an anonymous individual mailed a computer hard drive containing over 100 hours of video.

At least one suspect, seen in a wheelchair, is believed to be a patient.

The footage was shot at several locations, including one that appears to be a residential care facility.

The video is not being released but composite drawings of four of the suspects have been created based on the video footage.

Investigators say they need the public's help because they don't know when or where the attacks took place, or who was involved.

T.I. -- Prison Punishment for 'Frisky' Acts with Wife

Rapper T.I. got in some serious trouble with prison officials this weekend -- after guards caught the most famous inmate in Arkansas getting "frisky" with his wife during visiting hours ... TMZ has learned. T.I.'s wife Tiny confirms ... the two were in a room together during regular visiting hours at Arkansas State Prison when Tiny made like Michael Jackson ... and beat it. According to prison guidelines, inmates are allowed to kiss and embrace at the beginning and at the end of a visit as well as hold hands -- but "the inmate’s hands must remain in plain view of Visiting Room staff at all times." Tiny tells us T.I. was immediately reprimanded and sent to a  "Special Housing Unit" -- which consists of more security and less freedom. Tiny says she hasn't spoken to T.I. since the incident -- but she's hopeful she'll be allowed to visit again soon ... as long as she keeps her hand to herself.
T.I. turned himself over to authorities on November 1 to begin his second stint in the Arkansas prison in less than a year.

The low-security prison is the same facility where the King of the South served nine months last year after he secured a plea deal with Georgia prosecutors stemming from a 2007 gun case. The experimental deal required Tip to complete 1,500 hours of community service and endure home confinement in exchange for a lesser sentence. He was also required to complete a probation period afterward. The rapper was released in March after serving out the remainder of his time at a halfway house.

He was sent back to the facility after an October 2010 arrest in Los Angeles for drug possession after police searched the couple's vehicle following a traffic violation.
