Interview With Actress/Model Nikki Phoenix
DGH: So your a Model/Actress... What does it take to be successful in that Field?
NIKKI: I honestly feel to be successful in this career choice you just gotta be yourself, and do what you love doing. People who choice to be a model or an actor and don't enjoy the work that they do, I personally don't feel will be successful. There is a lot more work you have to maintain on an every day bases. Basic body maintenance's you MUST do such as I have watch what I eat (eat a very clean diet), exercise daily (lifting weights, cardio, hot yoga), get my hair done very 3 weeks, nails done once a week, going tanning everyday, make sure moisturize, etc. But I also have to consistently network, part take in a lot of events or photos shoot for free to gain experience, and understanding. I have worked very hard to get where I am today and I still pushing. There will be highs and a lot more lows, rejections, and failures but what is more important is that you keep trying and move forward. Lets face it, this job is about vanity. The number one thing in the field is you MUST do love yourself no matter what happens. Love your self, love your job, always try to better your self and learn from your mistakes and take care of your body, never give up and you will be successful.
DGH:What notable Modeling and Acting have you've done so far in your career?
NIKKI: Modeling:
Make-up and hair book by Salon Ceilo- One of there table books you can flip threw while you are waiting for appt.
Runways shows for Active Entertainment, Hair shows for Salon Ceilo and Colorworks
Several Photo shoots for Adult Content, swim wear, lingere, etc.
Acting:
"21 n over" set to release spring 2012
"Daddie Knows best" Released Dec 14, 2011
Several Horror clips where I get killed and die (can this of names right now)
DGH: What was is like working with all those great Photographer?
NIKKI: I honestly feel to be successful in this career choice you just gotta be yourself, and do what you love doing. DGH: What was is like working with all those great Photographer?
NIKKI: I find that any photographer that is happy with what he is does, and enjoys his job is a great photographer. I haven't had too many bad experiences with photographers because I generally get a long with everyone. I find my job is give them exactly what they want so I ask them questions and try to get inspired by their vision! I am their canvas to paint on!
DGH: Okay Here's one I bet you get all the time... But has anyone ever told you you look like Gwen Stefani?
NIKKI: Haha, yes I have heard this many times, just a curvier version of her. I have also had people claim I look like Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith. I think they are all beautiful women, with very success careers to claim their name too. I just wanna be known as Nikki Phoenix, and some day have my own name behind the face. Until then, I don't mind people telling me I look like these iconic women! Not a bad pedigree to be looking after!
DGH: Its obvious that your into fitness I understand your a personal trainer, How many times a week do you work out?
NIKKI: Well believe is or not I never use to be this way. Fitness is now my number one priority, but I use to be 100lbs heavier. In fact, I was over weight my entire life. It wasn't until I moved to DC that I decided to Change my life and get fit. I never thought I would be a model or an actress. I was the "fat girl" who would have ever thought I'd have success and be able to inspire so many women as I do. I generally work 5 days a week lifting weights, cardio 45 mins a day 6 days a week and Hot yoga 3 days week. I also eat very well rounded diet, and YES I do eat, 8 times a day actually. Just small meals. I love working out, staying fit, and helping others stay fit. I do consider myself personal trainer, I have found I have more of understanding about the human body, and how is works and can teach anyone how to do it. Anyone can learn how to lift weights, with correct form (which is most important other wise the lift is completely unless) and be taught how to eat right. I love helping others and I hope I continue to do so with the success of my career.
DGH: What next for Nikki Pheonix?
NIKKI: What's next for me is I am in the middle of publishing a book that is nutrition plan for 6 months, I am starting a cooking show to go with my book. Runway shows, photo shoots, more movies and scenes, and continue to inspire others with their weight loss goals!
DGH: We Wish you much luck with your career. Is there anybody you would like to plug in or thank?
NIKKI: Special thanks to ALL of my fans! I wouldn't be here with out all your support and love!! Thank you to my friends and family for their support! To My Manager Jessica and My agents Howie of Howiewood Entertainment and Kevin of Type 9 Models. To all the Photographers, Designs, Directors, Producers, all the middle people in between!! Thank you all so much for everything you do to help me get where I am need to be!
