COMPTON, Calif. (KTLA) -- Compton school officials are addressing a recent scandal involving a porn star reading to children at an elementary school.
Earlier this month, recently-retired porn star Sasha Grey was a guest reader at Emerson Elementary School for their Read Across America Day.
Grey spoke about the event on Twitter, saying: "Spent the am with Read Across America Compton, reading to the sweetest 1st & 3rd grade students @ Emerson Elementary!"

But parents were not happy, and complained to the PTA.
Celebrity website TMZ posted photos of Grey at the school.
School officials initially denied the appearance happened, but now, they say they were not made aware of her occupation.
The school says it was only aware of her guest spot on the show "Entourage."
The district has promised to review the participant selection process for its guest reader program.
Grey has not done porn in two years, and has made more mainstream appearances recently.
She is also an activist for PETA and Occupy Wall Street.
